dorothy & an unexpected hero

This is the first shot taken of Zuzu in her new Dorothy costume...


and moments later when she learns that, even though the mailman brought the costume, it is not actually Halloween today.


She gathers Toto & her Dora trick-or-treat bag, still whining for me to fill it up with treats until...


Big brother to the rescue.
Gage takes his little sister into his room and gently shows her how many days there are between now and Halloween on his calendar (36 in case you're wondering).


He then has her look out the window to show her that it is still daylight...and there are definitely no Halloween decorations up yet.


Finally, Zuzu lets us wipe the tears and takes a quick peek at the long awaited costume...


and I have a sinking feeling that I should have bought more than one.
